    Abstract:

A highly excited color de-confined nuclear matter, quark-gluon plasma (QGP), is produced in relativistic heavy-ion collisions at the Brookhaven Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider (RHIC) and the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). This QGP matter displays properties of perfect fluid and is believed similar to the state of the early universe microseconds after the big bang. In this talk, energetic partons are utilized to probe the transport properties of the QGP. The strong interaction between the hard partons and the QGP medium is described using a linear Boltzmann transport model that incorporates both elastic and inelastic scattering processes. Within this model, a good description of the nuclear modification of both heavy and light flavor hadrons is obtained. And by embedding the theory calculation into an advanced statistic framework of Bayesian analysis, the transport parameter of the QGP is quantitatively extracted.
